The following report - Annual report pursuant to Section 13 or 15(d) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2013. Commission file number 001-06351 - was filed February 19, 2014.

It was one yearly Form 10-K report. These reports are annual reports required by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), that gives a comprehensive summary of a company's financial performance.

Eli Lilly writes – among many other things – the following:

-      -   We are currently a defendant in a variety of other product liability lawsuits in the U.S. involving primarily Darvon, Actos, Cymbalta, diethylstilbestrol (DES), and Zyprexa.

-       -   Along with several other manufacturers, we have been named as a defendant in approximately 55 cases in the U.S. involving approximately 1,700 claimants related to the analgesic Darvon and related formulations of propoxyphene.

-      -   Additionally, approximately 80 cases involving approximately 225 claimants were recently dismissed and are on appeal to the Sixth Circuit. Almost all of the active cases have been consolidated in a federal multi-district litigation in the Eastern District of Kentucky or are pending in a coordinated state court proceeding in California. A putative class action was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.

Together, it becomes about 135 cases involving 1 925 persons.

The similar report from the year 2012 is about 125 cases and 1 800 persons.

-       -   These cases generally allege various cardiac injuries. Almost all of these cases have been consolidated in a federal multi-district litigation in the Eastern District of Kentucky or are pending in state and federal courts in California.

Our data estimates the number of fatalities during the years 1982-2010 (29 years) could be about 178 000 fatalities due to Darvon & Darvocet in US. This gives a yearly number of fatalities around 6 000 persons - that were poisoned to death during these investigated years.

However, we think there will lots of more cases and there will be lots of more persons involved in the coming trials that Eli Lilly mentioned in the above text.

And Eli Lilly will have to pay huge damages……
